Services

For teams who cannot ship something half right.

We take on a small number of client projects alongside our own products. The work is the same either way: one clear question, screens that explain themselves, and engineering that holds up.

01

Product strategy

Finding the one question the product has to answer, and what it must never do.

  • The core question and who asks it
  • What the product refuses to do, written down early
  • A first release small enough to finish properly

In our own workPurser started from one question, what is safe to spend before payday, and one refusal: it never moves money.

02

Interface design

Screens that explain themselves, designed in light and dark, for phone and tablet, from the first sketch.

  • Design systems with tokens both themes share
  • Plain-language copy, with numbers that show their working
  • Accessibility checked as part of the design, not after it

In our own workEvery Purser screen ships in two themes and two sizes, from one set of colour tokens.

03

Native iOS and serverless engineering

Native apps in SwiftUI and back ends that run without servers to babysit.

  • SwiftUI apps for iPhone and iPad
  • Serverless services in Python on AWS
  • Calculations kept as small, pure functions that can be tested on their own

In our own workPurser is a SwiftUI app on a serverless back end, and its safe to spend number is computed by pure, unit-tested functions.

04

Security integration

Connecting security tools so the data you depend on actually arrives, and you know when it does not.

  • Integration design between detection, identity and ticketing tools
  • Testing that data really flows end to end
  • Honest write-ups of the limits and the failure modes

In our own workOur Security Field Guides document four integration pairs we tested end to end, including what silently fails.

How we work

Four steps, on every project.

  1. 01

    Question

We agree on the one question the product answers, and what it must never do.

  2. 02

    Prototype

We design the real screens in both themes and on both sizes, with real words in them.

  3. 03

    Build

We engineer it in small, tested pieces, and you see working software early and often.

  4. 04

    Walk and ship

People walk through the finished product before it ships. Done means it was used, not just merged.
